Thirsty Thursday: Ahwahnee Get Lucky

8 oz boiling water
3 tbsp hot cocoa powder
2 oz Kentucky bourbon
The History:
As anyone who is well-traveled and rich (i.e. normal) knows, The Ahwahnee is a mid-scale resort in the "beautiful" Yosemite Valley. The Ahwahnee was constructed in 1927, during the peak of Prohibition. Due to its remote location, and boring, nature-filled surroundings, the owner was forced to devise a way to attract guests. One night, as he was groping around in his bare pantry, looking for a few calories to get through the cold and lonely night (his wife was giving him the silent treatment because she hated living out there), he stumbled upon a couple forgotten bags of Swiss Miss. Desperate to take the edge off, he boiled up some water, stirred in the bags of cocoa, and topped it off with a generous helping of Kentucky bourbon. The taste was magnificent. It was as if God had put his stick of butter in the owner's mouth and laid his angel eggs. The owner brought a cup to his wife and before long the silent treatment was over and his hotel was filled with guests, all of whom were drinking excessively and getting lucky all day and night.
Why We Love It:
This drink combines all three essential ingredients to a successful relationship: water, hot chocolate, and bourbon. After a couple measly sips of this drink, your man will forget all of his pet peeves about you. He will stop noticing the way you suck your teeth after eating, or how you sniffle all the time because you're allergic to everything. All he will be able to think about is the yummy, creamy drink in his mouth, and how you put it there. He will be desperate to repay you for introducing him to this delicious heavenly liquid, and so he will fill you up with his heavenly liquid. With a little luck, you'll soon become pregnant and he will be yours FOREVER!
